FDA panel recommends revoking the approval of controversial drug for preterm births

In this article from nbc news, the Food Drug Administration (FDA) explains why the injectable drug, Makena should be withdrawn after it was approved in 2011; the approval was based on small study.

Makena was supposed to reduce the rate of premature birth in women with a history of the problem. However in 2019, a 1,700 patient international study showed that the drug didn't help premature births or resulted in healthier infants.
