Says "Natural", But it's Not

Updated: Jan 22, 2023

During your pregnancy and before, it's important that you get enough folic acid before and during pregnancy. Folic acid is found in oranges and pasta; it is helps with the organ development of your growing baby. Unfortunately, not all orange juice is good for you and your growing baby especially if it's not organic.

Today, I was surprised to see that there is a lawsuit that was brought against Simply Orange Juice because it has forever chemicals hundreds of times more than what the FDA (Food Drug Administration) limits for drinking water. The link is below with the full article and the benefits of folic acid during pregnancy courtesy of the Guardian and Healthline.

This is terrible because as expectant mothers, we believe that we are doing our best by eating healthy and feel that the decisions that we make are great for us. However, this is not always the case.

When I first found out that I had a fibroid, I was upset because I attributed it to my miscarriage. However, it was a blessing in disguise because it made me focus on a healthier diet in order for my growing baby to survive and also benefited my body. As a result of a healthy organic diet, I never suffered from any health issues or delivery complications at 38 years of age. This was possible because I did my own research.

In Conclusion, mamas to be, new mothers or women planning to become pregnant, it is extremely important that you research EVERYTHING especially what goes into your bodies! If these things are toxic, it can affect your fetus's development not only his or her physical, but their brain development too.

Nowadays, there are so many foods that are being recalled, so focus on eating organic right now....during and after your pregnancy. It is affordable and beneficial! Currently, I shop for organic foods at Trader Joes. Make sure that you pay close attention to the ingredients because for each trimester that you go through, there are certain foods that are okay to eat and that you should avoid. Also, the ingredients should be simple enough for you to pronounce and understand.

In Conclusion, the information that I share with you is based on my personal experience and is not medical advice. This information is to bring awareness and to let you know that you have the power to make your life better through research and to always trust your instincts. It's never too late to start over and make your life better. Wishing you all the best on this wonderful journey!
